Mask Making
In Mask Making, students will be introduced to the purpose and function of masks in cultures around the world and throughout history, and will also explore the symbolism of masks in our own society.
*A spiral-bound sketchbook or notebook is required for this class I highly suggest taking Exploratory Art in 6th grade as a foundation for this class. I recommend this as a class for students interested in theater and performance. Students may want to examine their personal religion requirements before deciding to take this class to optimize the potential for success, as "Mask Making" is heavily focused on world religions and depicting the human face in various ways. "Pottery & Sculpture" may allow for more creative freedom in that regard. |
